We’ve had a hell of a time these last 9 months. For real. We put our entire savings into an RV that failed us time and time… and time again. And put trust in a dealership that dicked us around for 9 solid months. If it wasn’t one thing it was another. So, we made the decision during this trip to get rid of it, even though we knew we’d likely lose money on it (such a long story), and be left with no vehicle to explork in. Sometimes, you have to get rid of the stuff that’s slowing you down in order to make room for awesome things.

We spent the entire trip dreaming up our next explorker. From Leasure Vans (too expensive, small water tank), to EarthRoamers (also way too expensive), and everything in between.

We came up with a must-have list for our next explorker, including:

  • Over 26 feet
  • Bed over the cab or accessible without slideout
  • Less than $105,000 CAD
  • Lots of storage (for chairs, too!)
  • Kitchen counter large enough to actually make food
  • Hot water tank
  • Leather front seats
  • Shower door
  • XM radio
  • Safe in the winter
  • Large dining table
  • Heat all over instead of in one place
  • DC fridge
  • Oven
  • Backup camera

So, we’re feeling like this was the right decision and that, when the time is right, we’ll find the right unit for us.

For now, we’re out enjoying what Jarvis Lake, Jasper, and Mt. Kidd have to offer us. We just got off the first leg of The Keto Diet Book Tour, so ready for a much-needed break.
