We arrived in Tampa early enough that we parked right outside Costco while Leanne went to Whole Foods (or is it Whole Paycheck? I can never remember the name of that store…), Costco, and dropped of Coconut to Camp Bow Wow for couple of days of dog boarding.
Why only Coconut in overnight dog care? Well, we actually weren’t supposed to physically be in Tampa this week. We’d planned to park the rig at Bay Bayou RV Resort and fly to Anaheim for a show. But, Leanne’s been really tired these last couple of weeks so we decided to skip the show and relax in Tampa instead.
Problem was, the Bay Bayou only allows 2 dogs per rig… so Coconut got to stay at Camp Bow Wow. She LOVES playing with her other puppy friends, and our two other girls really enjoyed the quiet time. It was so eery around the house without her.
We paid $337.50 for 4 nights at Bay Bayou plus the $200 to board Coconut. Pretty expensive when you factor in everything, but it was well worth it. The property is quiet, everyone is super friendly, the pace is slow, the energy is good… it reminded us of Preferred RV Resort in Pahrump except Tampa just has something about it.
We were really happy here, and would definitely come back again. Tampa is one of those cities we could spend months in and not get tired of exploring.
Would we come back? We loved it here. If we had 2 dogs, this would be a winning place. With three dogs, not really a place we could frequent, but we highly recommend checking it out, or at least visiting Tampa!
All of the sites are well taken care of, not a spot of garbage in the whole place. All dog owners are really great with picking up dog poo, too!
We walked to the deck every morning, just 2 minutes from our site, and drank coffee… and looked for alligators. No luck. But it was beautiful!

Us after our long walk along the river. It was a perfect day!
